Personal Service Hours for Sergeants and Officers Serving in Cadre

by | Feb 18, 2026 | ALERT Cadet, All News

Going forward, sergeants and officers are to be given recognition for their personal service of participating in the Cadre of any ALERT Cadet camp for which a participation award is available.

The Camp Commander shall determine the number of service hours to be assigned, which in most cases will include all of the recipient’s waking hours at the camp and may include planning and preparation hours prior to camp.  As in other cases of personal service, the recipient may add to the assigned personal service hours his travel time to and from the camp, however the travel hours may count for no more than one-half (50%) of the total service hours recorded by the sergeant or officer for the camp.

These personal service hours are in addition to, and not in lieu of, any other award for, or recognition of, a sergeant or officer’s participation in the camp as a member of the Cadre.
