SUMMARY:2021 Eastern LTC - Waynesburg\, Pennsylvania
DESCRIPTION:The August 23-28\, 2021\, Eastern Region LTC Camp will be held at Strath an De’ Farm (Scottish Gaelic for “God’s Valley”) belonging to Jim and Barbara Butler in Waynesburg\, PA\, with staff reporting for briefing on Sunday the 22nd. \nYou will be acquiring or advancing your skills in First Aid with CPR\, land search and recovery/rescue\, map reading and compass\, sawyer safety and use\, Incident Command System\, and walkie-talkie use\, protocol\, and care (which taken together satisfy all the requirements of the Crisis Response Training Award). More than ever you will appreciate that team success depends on the success of each member. \nLTC members: You will be tested to think\, communicate\, and act under pressure. You will refine your ability to calmly and efficiently collect facts\, discern outcomes\, evaluate risk\, make decisions\, develop plans\, re-evaluate decisions\, make course corrections\, clean up your mistakes\, process criticism\, and debrief in order to thoroughly learn from your experiences. \nDads: You are going to partner with your sons in order to observe\, protect\, evaluate\, advise\, and enjoy them. You will instruct\, re-enforce progress\, and learn new things about some skills and about your sons. Come prepared to see your sons challenged and stretched; and then take home refined parenting skills that will benefit all your children as you disciple them in critical thinking and other skills. You dads hold the positions of greatest influence as you collaborate directly with your sons to integrate the purpose of each devotion\, teaching\, training\, briefing\, scenario\, and debriefing. \nThis is tent camping. There are rustic showers\, and all mealtime food will be supplied. Note that the packing list (not yet posted) will require neither a multi-day backpack nor any special uniform or equipment purchases. \nNo one has permission to stay away from this camp due to finances.
